DASHER – Georgia Christian School (GCS) announced Monday, October 5, 2026, it has been selected to receive a $5,000 award as part of the T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights (FN5GL) sweepstakes. The Dasher school is one of 1,000 across the country chosen for this recognition, which aims to bolster high school football programs.
The T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights sweepstakes celebrates the community spirit and passion surrounding high school football. The initiative awards funds to schools to help strengthen their football programs and foster community engagement through the sport. GCS credits the "incredible support of an amazing GCS Community" for helping them advance in the sweepstakes and secure this initial award for their football program.
Athletic Director Drew Copeland expressed gratitude for the community's support, stating GCS was "grateful to everyone who cheered us on." He added that their enthusiasm and support showcased what it means to be part of the GCS family. Copeland confirmed the award would help programs grow and create more opportunities for student-athletes.
This $5,000 award represents a significant milestone for GCS, but the school's participation in the sweepstakes is not yet complete. GCS is currently awaiting a further announcement to determine if it will be selected as one of the Top 40 schools nationwide. Schools chosen for the Top 40 will receive a larger prize of $25,000. Copeland highlighted that such an opportunity could have an even greater impact on their football programs.
Should GCS advance to the Top 40, the sweepstakes includes additional stages with even larger prizes. The school would then enter a nationwide text voting phase to compete for a spot in the Top 10, which carries a $250,000 prize. Ultimately, the sweepstakes will culminate in the selection of a single school to receive a $1 million Grand Prize. GCS is encouraging the "Titletown, USA community" to be ready to offer its support if the school reaches these advanced voting stages.
For now, GCS is celebrating this achievement and thanking all who contributed to securing the $5,000 award. The school conveyed pride in its football program and the strong community backing it receives, expressing optimism for future opportunities through the sweepstakes.
