Valdosta, GA – The Lowndes Vikings will return to Martin Stadium this Friday night, October 2, 2026, to face Winter Haven (Fla.) in their final game before region play begins. The No. 6 Vikings enter the contest with an undefeated 5-0 record, looking to extend their winning streak against a Winter Haven team that holds a 3-2 record. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m.

This Friday’s game also marks two special events at "The Concrete Palace." Fans are encouraged to wear pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Night, and the evening will also celebrate Middle School Night.

The Vikings have demonstrated strong performance throughout the season, having accumulated 186 points while holding opponents to just 14 points. Lowndes has also secured three shutouts this season. Their most recent outing, nearly two weeks ago before a bye week, resulted in a significant 53-0 victory over Long County. This win represented the highest number of points scored by the Vikings in a single game this season.

Against Long County, the Lowndes offense showcased its capabilities with sophomore quarterback Jordan Parker completing all 11 of his pass attempts for 210 yards and two touchdowns. Senior running back Mason Woods also had a productive night, rushing for 81 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Parker's primary target, Kaevone Thomas, recorded eight catches for 180 yards and two touchdowns, including an 84-yard reception.

The visiting Winter Haven Blue Devils present a different challenge for Lowndes. Winter Haven has proven its ability to score points, totaling 140 points over their five games this season. Their season began with a 44-28 win against Lake Region. The Blue Devils also secured victories against Davenport with a 27-0 shutout and Cypress Creek with a 35-21 score. However, Winter Haven has faced defeats against Lake Wales, losing 41-14, and Poinciana, in a close 21-20 contest. Lowndes will need to monitor sophomore running back Jakari Faniel, who has amassed 438 rushing yards this season for the Blue Devils.

This matchup serves as a crucial final test for Lowndes before they transition into the regional portion of their schedule. The Vikings aim to maintain their dominant form and secure another victory in front of their home crowd, closing out their non-region schedule strong.
